The KAFU Clone Website was created to address a recurring question from institutional stakeholders: 'Can this AI Assistant work on our existing website?' The answer is yes — and this demo site proves it.
The project replicates a typical university website structure and embeds the KAFU AI Assistant as a floating widget, a dedicated chat panel, and a context-aware inline assistant within specific pages (e.g., the admissions page). Visitors can interact with each integration pattern and see the assistant respond with accurate, contextual information.
The demo proved instrumental in several stakeholder presentations and partner conversations, including discussions with neighbouring institutions exploring similar AI assistant deployments. It has since been used as a template for customised integration pilots.
Technical highlights include: a configurable chat widget SDK, server-side session management for conversation history, and an admin panel for customising the assistant's persona, colour scheme, and knowledge sources without code changes.
